Face tattoos to tease his mom
Almost every celebrity we know today adorns himself with small or large tattoos. One of them is the musician Post Malone, who causes a stir especially with his extraordinary face tattoos. We took a look at his tattoo collection, which consists of more than 50 motifs and is still stretched over his body today. In an interview, Austin Richard Post aka Post Malone revealed that his good friend Justin Bieber first inspired him to get a tattoo. Upon meeting him for the first time, he asked Bieber if the tattoo session was painful. Justin denied it and thus began the musician's considerable body art collection. Justin also played an integral role in his very first tattoo. After Post Malone got a Playboy bunny inked on his left arm, which was still healing at the time, it wasn't exactly treated with kid gloves while playing basketball with his buddy. Post jokes today, "He still owes me a new tattoo since then."
The rapper has a very special relationship with his finger tattoos, which make him look very "rock star-like" in addition to the actual meaning. To this day, portraits of music legends Elvis Presley, Kurt Kobain, Dimebag Darrel, John Lennon, Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Harrison and Bankroll Fresh adorn seven of his ten fingers. Without these artists, he would never have discovered music for himself and launched his career.
In general, Post Malone, who owes his stage name to an online rapper name generator, once claimed that his body is only adorned with people who inspire him. Among them is former President John F. Kennedy, whom Post says everyone should look to as a model for Americanism. He honors his already deceased friend and rapper Lil Peep with a portrait on his upper arm. He also proves anything but modesty with a self-portrait on his arm. He took actor Steve-O as inspiration here, who had his self-portrait tattooed on his back. For his version of self-portrayal, Posty took it down a notch and chose a miniature portrait that shows him as a knight on a white horse.
His current trademark are probably his several face tattoos, of which he says he still does not get enough. In addition to a small heart, the Playboy Bunny and a smiley under his right eye, the words "Stay Away" have been decorating the area above his eyebrow for quite some time. However, this is not a reference to leave him alone or stay away. It is merely a verse from a song lyric and has no other meaning. Rather, Post Malone's lifelong body art on his face was meant to annoy his mother and downright drive her up the wall. At least that's what he laughingly claims in an interview and adds: "But I love you Mom, sorry". Whether the successful artist is trying to hide his tired dark circles by writing "Always Tired" under his eyes is debatable. His statement on the matter is that he wanted to get two words tattooed that are the same length. He says that the fact that "Always" contains more letters than "Tired" didn't occur to him at the time because he was too tired. Posty also has motifs of a sword on his temple, barbed wire and two playing cards on his forehead, and another decoration on his other temple, which is not exactly identifiable. It was engraved by a Tokyo artist and is slightly reminiscent of Japanese cherry blossom branches. What do you say?
