That's why everyone wants a red tattoo now.
A new color is currently very trendy for tattoos: red! On social platforms, especially Instagram and Pinterest, it is almost impossible to avoid the numerous entries that list themselves under #redink. The hype is also supported by stars like Kylie Jenner or Rita Ora, who proudly present their new red tattoos.
How the red colour likes to land on the skin
There are almost no limits to your choice of motif - but minimalist and free-standing motifs are still very popular. Red tattoos are particularly effective on light skin, with lettering that stands out from other black tattoos being especially popular. Thus, the often delicate letterings fall unmistakably in the eye of the viewer. Likewise, red dragons, symbols as well as roses and floral designs are very popular. But it does not always have to be red, the extravagant color can also be easily combined. This is how combinations with black or white are created, in which the colours do not steal the show at all, but cause varied effects. The colour is also suitable for subtle and more reserved accents.
Attention Allergens
Even though the world of tattoos seems to be addicted to this color at the moment, it is the one that most often triggers allergies. The culprits are ingredients that could promote symptoms of allergy. Thus, inflammation, redness, and burning can be the result of choosing this color. However, these symptoms do not have to appear immediately - in fact, this is still possible years later. Since red ink does not always contain exclusively vegan ingredients, you should get sufficient information and clarification from your tattoo artist beforehand. Likewise, an allergy test at a dermatologist can provide clarification.
What else is different?
The pigments contained in the tattoo color are much more voluminous than those of other colors. This makes it more challenging for the tattoo artist to bring them under the skin. Accurate lines and clear outlines are difficult to implement. So a combination with another color or for example with the Watercolor style is recommended to avoid blurred edges. The pigments are also exactly the reason why the popular tattoos heal slower. With the right care afterwards, however, nothing stands in the way of a long-lasting joy about the freshly acquired tattoo.
