Let's look back a few centuries to the time when really significant personalities shaped the times until today through their endeavors and deeds, and you would never have thought that they were already following the current trend of tattoos back then.
Thomas Edison
The inventor of electricity and the light bulb not only brought light into the darkness, but also provided the basic model of the tattoo machine. Yes, that's right, in 1876 he developed an electric pen, which was originally intended to facilitate the copying of texts. It quickly became clear that he was not going to get far with this idea. Nevertheless, tattoo artist Samuel O'Reilly took the template of the electric pen in his favor and used it to develop the first tattoo needle that worked at 50 stitches per second. Thomas, as the decisive pioneer of today's tattoo machine, was also tattooed himself and wore five dots arranged like those on a cube on his right arm.
